The Admissions Support Representative is an integral member of the Office of Admissions, providing exceptional customer service while supporting the daily operations of the admissions office. As one of the first points of contact for prospective students, families, school counselors, and campus visitors, this position helps create a welcoming and engaging experience that reflects the University's commitment to student success. The Admissions Support Representative coordinates campus visit operations, supports recruitment initiatives, assists with the planning and execution of admissions events, and contributes to achieving the University's enrollment goals.
You will:
- Serve as the primary front desk representative, welcoming campus visitors and ensuring a professional, friendly, and organized check-in experience for prospective students, families, school counselors, and guests.
- Manage the main admissions phone line, responding to inquiries with exceptional customer service and directing calls to the appropriate staff as needed.
- Communicate with prospective students, families, and school counselors via phone, email, text, and in person, providing timely, accurate, and personalized information about the admissions process and the University.
- Coordinate daily campus visit logistics, including confirming visit registrations, preparing visit materials, and ensuring prospective students and guests have a seamless and engaging campus experience.
- Collaborate with student ambassadors and campus tour guides to coordinate daily schedules, maintain adequate tour coverage, and support a high-quality visitor experience.
- Conduct on-campus information sessions for prospective students and families, effectively communicating admissions information, academic opportunities, and campus resources.
- Create, maintain, and manage daily admissions staff and visitor coverage schedules to ensure efficient front desk operations and successful campus visit programming.
- Assist with application review and processing during peak admissions periods, as needed.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of admissions recruitment events, including Open Houses, Explore Days, Accepted Student programs, counselor events, and other on- and off-campus recruitment initiatives. Support event logistics, registration, setup, execution, and post-event follow-up to ensure successful programs and a positive guest experience.
- Collaborate with admissions staff and campus partners to continuously enhance visitor experiences and improve admissions operations and event effectiveness.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission of the University and the achievement of institutional enrollment goals.
You need:
- Bachelor's degree required; and a minimum of 1 year of admission experience preferred.
- Proven customer service skills and minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Ability to represent the University of New Haven in a variety of situations and be able to competently interact with a diverse population of prospective students, faculty, and staff.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products required; Slate CRM system experience preferred.
- Willingness to work evening and weekends when required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required for the travel component of the position.
- Must demonstrate a tireless commitment to enrolling and retaining a diverse student body.
