The Multimedia Producer and Strategist for the University of New Haven?is responsible for transforming visions and ideas from University leadership into tangible, attainable, well-executed multimedia content that hits key performance goals.
They will provide creative strategy and execute visually compelling and engaging content for both internal and external audiences and will work closely with members of the Office of Marketing and Communications to create on-brand visuals for the website, advertising, marketing campaigns, and social media.
You will:
- Create impactful reels, stories, and other multimedia content coupled with creative writing for social media to gain the attention of prospective students and parents, build student pride, and keep alumni engaged.
- Drive organic content reach on institutional social platforms by producing engaging content according to latest trends.
- Create style guides for how our photography and videography must be presented to maintain the highest standards and create a cohesive unifying style.
- Support members of the Marketing and Communications team with digital content needs. This could include, but is not limited to, content for marketing and advertising campaigns, social media, and website projects.
- Support the Media Relations team by capturing video content (b-roll) at key university events, which can be shared in a timely manner with local and national media.
- Help manage and maintain a DAM (Data Asset Management) system for past and future content archiving and access with an emphasis on facial recognition that aids in engagement.
- Produce and manage the entire production cycle of multimedia content, including conceptualizing, scheduling, directing, shooting, and editing.
- Research ideas, trends, technology and new ways of creating viral, organic, and targeted content. ?Develop and mentor a student creative team that would be responsible for generating student- focused content for various platforms. Providing technical expertise to students from various programs or whom may already be training in the Communication, Film and Media Studies Department.
- Ability to photograph headshots and environmental portraits of university community members.
- Track the success of social posts and multimedia content by monitoring data/insight information. Watch for trends and ways of creating content that increases awareness, drives engagement, and has the potential to go viral. ?
You need:
- Bachelor's degree
- Technical experience required in filming, producing, distributing and editing video for various media platforms including, but not limited to, social media, websites and news media. The ideal candidate will have a background and successful track record in visual creation and production and experience creating multi-platform content.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring tight deadlines are met. Capable of working with various teams and individuals on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong creativity, video production, storytelling, and editing skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of social media platforms, including by not limited to Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Experience using AI technology to research trends.
- Deep understanding of pre- and post-production video techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of current video and photo editing software.
- Ability to make subjects feel comfortable in front of the camera.
- Excellent communications skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with and understanding of a complex university setting and prior work in or with a university setting preferred.
