The Department of Population Health and Leadership in the School of Health Sciences at the University of New Haven is seeking to hire an NTT faculty position & Director of the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences program. This a non-tenure track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor of practice level.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as Program Director for the Online Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree Completion Program in Paramedicine. Established in 2021, this fully online program is designed for licensed Nationally Registered Paramedics (NREMT-P) who wish to advance their education and complete a bachelor’s degree. With a growing national reputation and a current enrollment of over 200 students from across the country, the program offers flexible, high-quality coursework that builds on paramedics’ existing clinical expertise while enhancing their leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills. The Program Director will play a key role in guiding curriculum development, supporting student success, ensuring academic excellence, and fostering the continued growth and innovation of this career-advancing program. Although mostly remote, this position will require occasional on-campus meetings and/or events.

The School of Health Sciences offers a vibrant and diverse clinical and research atmosphere where academic and clinical faculty provide students with the highest level of professional training in the classroom and in the community setting. The School of Health Sciences has strong relationships with multiple health systems and public health entities in the southern New England region that provide ample opportunities for research, community partnerships, and other collaborations. The School of Health Sciences offers degrees at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels.

You will:

The successful candidate will be expected to teach at the undergraduate level, manage operations and academic affairs for the Online B.S. Completion Degree in Paramedicine program. This includes strategic planning and budgeting, building and maintaining professional relationships, collaborating on interdisciplinary initiatives, advising and mentoring undergraduate students in the program, serving on departmental, college, and university-level committees, and performing other duties as assigned.

You need:

  1. NR-EMTP with a minimum of ten years of experience in the field.
  2. A master’s Degree in Public Administration, Healthcare Administration
  3. A minimum of five years of teaching experience.
  4. Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and innovation, active learning and engagement of students with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds,
  5. Demonstrated experience in online course delivery
  6. Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  7. Experience with course and program development
  8. Demonstrated ability to forge relationships and participate in the advancement of the online B.S. Completion Degree in Paramedicine.
  9. Significant organizational skills to manage a rapidly growing program.
